Ever-fresh beginnings! A SATURDAY THOUGHT (and a fond farewell)

This quote is from the Book of Revelation (21:5)

A (very) fond farewell…

Today, I give my final talk as a Christian Science lecturer, at least for the foreseeable future. It is a role I have deeply treasured, spiritually grown from, and it has allowed me to meet wonderful people around the world – including fellow church members, those who love the Science but aren’t affiliated to the movement and total newcomers to these beautiful and practical teachings.

It has been a great privilege to be a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship and my heartfelt thanks to all of you whose diligent work in sponsoring such lectures has helped make it such a joy. Here is a list of my Board of Lectureship colleagues that are continuing to lecture in the coming year.

Currently, I have a new focus, as one of two Associate Editors of the Christian Science periodicals, which is another great privilege, pleasure and joy. So if you want to keep up with my goings on, you can subscribe to JSH-online (or to the hard copy versions of The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel) and you will find me there…because I have to produce 13 editorials a year! 🙂

In line with this “fresh beginning”, I also feel the time is right to retire these weekly SATURDAY THOUGHTS. I will continue to produce occasional photo-quotes like these when moved to do so, and I will post them on Facebook. So if we are not yet Facebook friends, feel free to find me there and let’s connect that way.

If you have enjoyed the SATURDAY THOUGHT postings, please feel free to leave a comment below.

With much love to you all!

Tony L.

Last, but not least, here are the details for today’s lecture, sponsored by the Walton & Weybridge church. If you can be there, it would be great to see you! Or if you are not in the Surrey area you can watch it live (10am Eastern time) or after the event on the UK Online Reading Room.

  4. Best wishes, Tony, as you continue serving our cherished Movement. I lived near where your last lecture is being given, when I worked for TMC, assisting university “college Org’s” in Great Britain, (MANY years ago!) If you see Fenella, give her my love. We worked together at TMC as well as her being my dear friend and helper when I worked in Great Britain. Thank YOU for your ongoing unselfed support of Christian Science in all its many forms of outreach. (I live near Seattle, Washington, now. Caryl Smith Fishkin Bailey)
