The blessed season – A CHRISTMAS THOUGHT

“Blessed is the season%22 by Tony Lobl

I’d describe Hamilton Wright Mabie’s optimistic message as coining a counter fact to the consumerism and gluttony that too often seems to parade as our modern day Christmas. As Mary Baker Eddy once put it in her own wry style: “Mother wishes you all a happy Christmas, a feast of Soul and a famine of sense.” (Miscellany)

For my part, I trust and pray we can all find a healthy balance between the secular and the sacred over the holiday period. I hope you enjoy gift-giving and time spent with family and/or friends. But I also hope you can carve out space for quiet communion with your Creator and to ponder the deeper meaning of the season.

Thank you for your support of this website throughout the past year. There’s still more to come before finally signing off for 2015…and then look forward to a new look for our website in 2016!

Happy Christmas!

  2. Tony, I have enjoyed reading your blog as well as your articles in our periodicals. In a Live Chat you stated that ” The Christ is all there is to the crisis” .
That has been a beacon of light for me over and over again and has destroyed fear and darkness.
    Thank you!
